The role of the practice nurse is in chronic disease management and health promotion. The clinics include asthma, diabetes, well-woman, warfarin testing, elderly assessments, new patient health checks and prevention of coronary heart disease.
Patients are seen by appointment made at the reception.
Hours: 9.30am - 12.40pm and 2pm - 3.40pm (except Wednesday afternoon)
Provides a comprehensive service dealing with accidents and injuries, dressings, injections, blood and urine testing, blood pressure measurements, ECGs, travel vaccines, adult vaccinations and the ‘flu vaccine.
Clinic: Wednesday 09:30 – 10:30
The midwife provides antenatal care at our clinic, antenatal classes, advice on hospital facilities, birth plans and postnatal care for mother and baby after discharge from hospital.
The nurses provide expert nursing in the home, assessment of health care needs and continuing care after discharge. They provide excellent care for the terminally ill in conjunction with GPs / Macmillan Nurse / hospice.
Baby Clinic: Tuesday 09:30 – 12:00
The health visitor continues child healthcare after discharge by midwife until school age and also advises about child immunisations.
